About the role Operating within the Faculty of Education and Arts, the Deputy Dean, Strategy and Capability, is a senior faculty executive role responsible for leading and delivering the faculty''s people and workforce agenda and commitments, with a particular focus on mentoring and academic careers, in collaboration with research and teaching portfolio leaders, to support human flourishing and the common good. This role provides high-level academic leadership to advance the faculty''s strategic priorities in workforce planning, policy governance, internal engagement, and capability development, working closely with the Executive Dean, Heads of School and Institute, and Centre Directors. The role promotes and ensures academic and teaching quality, fosters research and scholarly excellence, and promotes the faculty''s national and international standing. The Deputy Dean will take executive oversight of agreed key strategic projects for the faculty, and will deputise for the Executive Dean as required. This opportunity comprises a temporary part-time (0.6 FTE) academic assignment of Deputy Dean, Strategy and Capability for a period of three (3) years, renewable based on performance and underpinned by a continuing academic E level appointment, dependent on the experience, expertise and capability of the successful candidate. Compensation and Benefits Total remuneration valued to $260,037 - $260,037 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $220,723 - $220,723 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level E Increment 1), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff. Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks'' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
