Head of Curriculum Twinkl Australia is seeking an exceptional educational leader to take on the pivotal role of Head of Curriculum. This role will hold strategic and operational responsibility for all Australian content creation, ensuring Twinkls resources are deeply aligned to Australian curricula (ACv9 and state), pedagogically robust and (most importantly) built around what teachers genuinely need and want. This is a senior, high-impact leadership position. The Head of Curriculum will lead, inspire and develop our Australian content creation team across Early Years, Primary and Secondary, creating and managing a teacher-led, evidence-informed, curriculum-driven strategy. As an educational authority within, and a public face of, Twinkl Australia, this role will represent the company at teacher forums, professional learning events, regional workshops, and state and national education discussions, ensuring Twinkl is both listening to and shaping the Australian education conversation. Key purpose of the role To ensure Twinkl Australia produces worldclass, curriculumaligned, teachercentred educational resources To embed deep listening, teacher insight, and real classroom need into every stage of content creation To lead and evolve a highperforming content team with a strong pedagogical foundation To position Twinkl as a trusted, credible, and influential educational partner within the Australian education system Key responsibilities Own and lead the Australian content strategy across Early Years, Primary and Secondary education Ensure all resources align with: Australian Curriculum (ACARA) Statebased curricula and frameworks Contemporary assessment, reporting and compliance requirements Translate curriculum outcomes into practical, usable and highimpact classroom resources Drive a shift from assumptionbased creation to evidence and insightled product development Work closely with global teams to ensure Australian content maintains Twinkls quality standards while meeting local needs Teacherled insight & community engagement Build strong, ongoing feedback loops with Australian teachers and school leaders Actively engage with teachers through school visits, professional learning sessions, conferences and workshops, and online teacher communities and feedback channels Ensure teacher voice directly informs our resource prioritisation, product improvements and new content initiatives Champion a teachers first mindset across the content team Lead, mentor and inspire the team of Australian content leads, fostering a culture of pedagogical excellence, collaboration, continuous improvement and accountability to teacher outcomes Support Twinkls content creators, editors and educational specialists, providing clear direction, feedback and performance management Ensure team workflows are efficient, scalable and aligned to strategic priorities Act as Twinkl Australias pedagogical authority Ensure resources reflect bestpractice teaching and learning principles, inclusive education approaches, differentiation, accessibility and evidencebased instructional strategies Stay up to date with educational research, policy changes, assessment reforms and digital learning trends Provide expert guidance on pedagogy across all phases of schooling Work collaboratively across Twinkl teams and functions to drive the development, delivery and impact of resources and products, including: Shaping product roadmaps Identifying gaps and growth opportunities Aligning educational value with business goals Contribute to the development of scalable, digitalfirst and blended learning products Use data, teacher feedback and usage insights to refine and improve content performance Support innovation in how teachers can access and use Twinkl resources External representation / Advocacy Serve as the public educational face of Twinkl Australia Represent Twinkl at teacher conferences, regional and state education forums, curriculum and policy discussions, and education authority meetings (where appropriate). Build credibility and trust with educators, stakeholders and partners Advocate for teacher needs and classroom realities at a strategic level Skills, experience & attributes Significant experience within the Australian education sector Strong, practical understanding of both the Australian Curriculum and statebased curriculum variations Teaching or educational leadership background (highly desirable) Proven experience leading and developing teams Deep pedagogical knowledge across at least one phase of schooling, with working understanding across EY12 A strong commercial awareness, with the ability to align educational value and teacher needs with sustainable product and market opportunities Ability to translate curriculum and pedagogy into effective educational products Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Passion for improving outcomes for teachers and students Experience in educational publishing, edtech, or digital product creation Experience shaping or owning content or product strategy Publicfacing experience (presenting, speaking, representing organisations) Familiarity with datainformed product development Experience working within a fastmoving, scaling organisation Teachercentric and empathetic Strategic thinker with practical execution skills Confident educational leader and advocate Comfortable influencing at senior and external stakeholder levels Curious, reflective and committed to continuous improvement Resilient and adaptable in a changing education landscape Why this role matters This role is critical to Twinkls future growth and success across Australia.It represents acultural and strategic shiftfrom creating resources webelieveteachers want, to building resources theyactively ask for, rely on andtrust.
