OverviewNT Department of Corrections, Darwin, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Northern Territory. Several full-time ongoing and fixed-period appointments. Remuneration package: $69,316 - $108,308 inclusive of superannuation and allowances (salary $62,167 - $69,074).After initial 11 weeks training period salary will be $108,308 remuneration package. Base pay: $69,074 - $108,308 including allowances. Market leading salary. 11 week paid training program. Nationally recognised qualification. Up to 7 weeks recreation leave per year. Are you looking for a career that offers security, flexibility and real career development opportunities?ResponsibilitiesSupport the safety and security of correctional centres, staff, visitors and prisoners.Supervise, monitor and manage prisoners; employ appropriate security measures to ensure the safety of prisoners; undertake escorts and respond to emergencies.Work alongside a dedicated team of professionals to contribute to an environment that supports prisoners to reintegrate back into the community.Training and qualificationsDuring the 12 month training program you will be required to successfully complete the nationally accredited qualification CSC30122 Certificate III in Correctional Practice (RTO Number 1074). All costs are covered by DoC.Complete performance appraisals and assessments.Be eligible for ongoing employment (permanent) or fixed period contracts; Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident; good character; strong communication and organisational skills; fitness; ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.First Aid Certificate and a Northern Territory C class drivers license with the ability to drive a manual vehicle are required prior to commencement.Salary and benefitsInitial salary during training: first 8 weeks block training salary of $62,167 plus 12% superannuation (remuneration package $69,627).9-11 week period (shadow): $97,478 remuneration package inclusive of Salary ($62,167) plus 40% consolidated allowance ($24,867) plus 12% superannuation.After the 11-week training period: $108,308 remuneration package inclusive of Salary ($69,074) plus 40% consolidated allowance ($26,825) plus 12% superannuation.Rewards include 6 weeks recreational and 3 weeks personal leave, flexible working conditions, uniforms, wellness allowance, and opportunity for paid overtime.An additional one week recreational leave is granted for working 10 Sundays or more in a calendar year.Attraction and retention allowance of $10,000 for Alice Springs ($2,500 after 3 months, a further $2,500 after 6 months, and $5,000 after 12 months).
