Pastoral Care Volunteer, Community Home Visits, Caboolture QLD Caboolture, Australia | Posted on 02/20/2026 HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, youll be actively involved with a local Christian church, offering comfort, presence, and hope to those who need it most. Can you offer a listening ear and a prayerful heart to someone longing to be heard? Were seeking a pastoral care volunteer to visit a courageous woman living with a palliative diagnosis. A person of deep Christian faith, she finds strength in Scripture, prayer, and open conversations about God. She also loves crafting, chatting about life (and a little politics), and spending time with her beloved Jack Russell, Bella. Your presence could be the highlight of his fortnight - bringing conversation, connection, and spiritual companionship. Youll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may: Support people to meet their spiritual needs Skills required for this role: High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills. Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer. Volunteering along side Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
