OverviewPosition: Primary Products Quality Assurance OfficerLocation: 30 Crest Hill Road, Bindoon, WA, 6520Salary: $77,000 to $82,000 plus 12% SuperannuationCompany: Northern Valley Packers Pty LtdAbout Us:Northern Valley Packers is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Officer for an immediate start. This is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week, based in Bindoon Western AustraliaResponsibilitiesConducting tests on fruit to assess quality of produce for flavour, taste (sensory), colour and appearance (Visual)Performing quantitative chemical analysis on fruit to assess maturity, according to Australian Citrus Quality Standards (ACQS), and determining suitability for processing.Leading and supervising our team of QC officers operating in each area of the business.Driving quality and consistency of food production.Ensuring all dispatches meet or exceed customer specifications.Responsible for compliance related to HACCP, HARPS, FRESHCARE, FSANZ, GMP and export related protocols.Monitoring labour costs and staff allocations in your area to ensure efficiency.Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the QC room.Managing inventory and ordering supplies of testing equipment as needed.Training and mentoring junior QC staff.Collaborating with management on seasonal issues effecting quality.Conducting regular toolbox meetings to ensure effective communication.Addressing customer feedback or rejections and making necessary adjustments to product quality.Qualifications and ExperienceFood safety Certificate or a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.Driven and enthusiastic Quality Officer with proven leadership skills.Sound knowledge in chemistry and food safety including HACCP, Freshcare, HARPS.High level of chemistry knowledge is required for this position.Previous experience with meeting COLES, WOOLWORTHS, COSTCO citrus specifications.Citrus export experience is required for this role.Demonstrated experience with KCT citrus export protocol requirementsExceptional organizational skills.Ability to implement and drive systems and procedures.Strong team-building and motivational skills with the ability to foster a positive team culture.Experience Required:Quality Control: 2 years (preferred)This is a fantastic opportunity for a career professional.
