Job details - Full time permanent opportunity - Band 6: $97k-$106k per annum (depending on experience) + 12% superannuation About the role As the Senior Parking Appeals Officer youll be responsible for managing the internal review of Council-issued infringement notices, with a particular focus on escalated and complex matters across parking, local laws, animal management and planning enforcement. Youll apply sound legislative and policy judgement to deliver fair, consistent and well-reasoned decisions, supported by clear and professional written correspondence. Youll also provide specialist advice, coaching and quality assurance to other staff in the Appeals and Business Support team, promoting best practice and continuous improvement relating to infringement matters. Other responsibilities include: - Contributing to the continuous improvement of appeals workflows, templates and quality assurance practices. - Undertaking regular audits of Appeals Officers correspondence to ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance with legislation and Council standards. - Supporting the preparation of briefs and documentation for court proceedings and hearings. - Liaising with Fines Victoria to ensure up to date record-keeping in relation to infringements under their management. About you You are an experienced regulatory professional with a background in infringement management or internal review processes. With a sound understanding of relevant legislation and policies, you approach decision making thoughtfully, ensuring outcomes are fair, consistent and well reasoned. You communicate clearly and professionally, with the ability to prepare considered written responses for a diverse range of stakeholders. Youre approachable and supportive, and you enjoy sharing your knowledge and assisting others, helping to build consistency, confidence and good practice within the team. You manage competing priorities and statutory timeframes with care and attention, working independently while contributing positively to a collaborative, service focused environment.
