We value love, respect, reliability, and empowerment, and we''re committed to supporting our employees and customers.About the RoleAs our Payroll Officer Workers Compensation, you will ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions related to workers'' compensation and return-to-work arrangements. You''ll manage claim payments, maintain compliance with NSW and ACT legislation, liaise with insurers and internal stakeholders, and ensure employees are paid correctly during periods of reduced capacity or absence.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess workers'' compensation payments, leave reversals, top-ups, and reimbursements in line with legislation and policyMaintain accurate payroll records, coding, leave types, and adjustmentsCompile wage reimbursement schedules and reconcile payments from insurersCalculate pre-injury average weekly earnings (PIAWE) and coordinate adjustmentsEnsure superannuation, taxation, and leave accruals are applied correctlyLiaise with case managers, insurers, rehabilitation coordinators, and injured employeesProvide payroll information to support claims and return-to-work planningTrack claim status, manage overpayments/recoveries, and maintain audit trailsPrepare reports for internal stakeholders, auditors, and external agenciesSupport audits with accurate documentation and reconciliation evidenceMaintain data integrity in payroll and HRIS systemsIdentify opportunities to streamline workers'' compensation payroll processesProvide responsive and empathetic service to employees impacted by workplace injuryCollaborate with People & Culture, WHS, and Finance teamsAbout YouTo be successful, you''ll have:Bachelor''s degree in business, accounting, finance, human resources, or equivalent experienceDemonstrated experience in payroll, with a focus on workers'' compensation or leave managementStrong knowledge of industrial instruments, Fair Work Act, and workers'' compensation legislation (NSW & ACT)Understanding of minimum employment conditions and remuneration entitlements in AustraliaHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to interpret and manage multiple sets of employment conditions and contractsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work accurately under tight deadlinesExperience with T1 Payroll SystemEnd-to-end payroll processing experienceIf you''re an experienced Payroll Officer with expertise in workers'' compensation and looking for a meaningful role with flexibility and purpose, we''d love to hear from you!About UsWe are proud to be part of the merged care organisation that will be known nationally as BaptistCare.
