Eligible for US Work Authorization Sponsorship: NoFLSA Exemption: Exempt-Eligible for Straight-Time OvertimeJob SummaryThe Construction Manager (CM) will be engaged in the project from the initiation / definition phase through final commissioning and closeout. Below is list of activities / deliverables the CM may be involved in throughout the life cycle of a project from initiation to final commissioning and closeout. Project scopes vary as will the roles of the CM for each project. This position, depending upon experience may be a I or a II in the client structure.Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesAssist the Construction Group to manage capital projects through the entire life cycle from definition to closeoutParticipate as a member of project teams to develop project scope, project cost estimate, project scheduleParticipate on site field / scope visitsAssist others in developing schedule including critical pathsDevelop detailed construction plans and identify outage requirements to implement new facilitiesIdentify required permitsWork with Utility Company major accounts group regarding outages that affect external/internal customersDevelop construction contract bid packages; review responses and participate in vendor selectionDevelop bid package / RFPConduct pre-bid meeting with contractorsParticipate in design constructability reviews for all disciplines (site, foundation, electrical & relay, T-Line) to identify and eliminate costly expenses during the construction phaseDevelop detailed construction plan, which includes a list of outages, exact work dates, and construction resource requirementsIdentifies and addresses all project safety hazards and environmental concerns. Responsible for monitoring and routine reporting on project construction schedule and costPerform quality assurance checks during constructionMonitor schedule and progress versus requested in service dateResponsible for closeout of construction contracts and as-built documentationMonitors that all Utility Company procedures and processes are followed so that we will comply with all regulatory requirementsProvide Construction Management over site to contractors responsible for constructing and commissioning Transmission Substations and Transmission Lines across the Utility Company SystemQualifications (Knowledge, Skills And Abilities)Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management or the equivalent required;Requires ten (10) or more years experience in the Electric Utility Transmission & Distribution, Construction, Manufacturing, or similar industries experience required;Must have superior interpersonal, leadership, communication, organizational, and presentation skills;Requires a proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written;Must possess advanced knowledge of MS Office suite of products (especially MS Word and MS Excel).Working ConditionsWork is conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private Office) and requires occasional travel to off-site work locationsField duties require outdoor work in a plant or construction atmosphereInteraction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnelWorking plant, construction, and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levelsMust be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protectionMay be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changesMay be required to travel out of town on a periodic basisPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift and carry 20 poundsSufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectivelyAbility to sit for prolonged periods of time with or without reasonable accommodationSufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigationsSufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permit the employee to perform routine office dutiesSufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locationsThis job description is intended to indicate the kinds of tasks and levels of work difficulty required of the position given this title and shall not be construed as declaring what the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position shall be.
