We are seeking a suitably qualified Finance Officer to work either 0.8FTE or 1.0FTE. The FTE would be negotiated with the successful candidate. The current Finance Officer is reducing their hours, so there is an opportunity for someone to join our school community. Should the successful candidate be new to working in CEWA, appropriate training would be provided to support their transition. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children. The successful candidate will be appropriately qualified and/or experienced, demonstrate enthusiasm and ability to provide the appropriate expertise in bookkeeping and be able to provide assistance to the Principal, whilst supporting and respecting the ethos of the school and its environment. Experience in financial procedures including accounts receivable, accounts payable, preparation of Business Activity Statements, and general ledger processing. Sound knowledge and demonstrated ability of relevant accrual accounting practices. Exhibit excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. Maintain a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality. Demonstrate flexibility, and the ability to prioritise tasks, in the response to change. Demonstrate the ability to be use initiative and work independently. Advanced computer skills and knowledge including experience in financial programs, Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet Applications. Qualifications Required A relevant qualification in Accounting, Business or a related field would be an advantage, but is not essential. Extensive experience with financial or bookkeeping functions. Experience in a school environment would be an advantage but is not essential. Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School (or willingness to attain). Working With Children Check. A current National Police History Check as issued by the Department of Education WA.
