Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a longlife, lowcost, worldclass asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft that will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6Mtpa to 3.2Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion have laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin. Your Impact Reporting to the Superintendent, Mine Services and Backfill, you will lead and supervise underground mining crews to safely deliver targets while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and performance. This is a handson leadership role where you will coordinate daily activities, manage crew performance and ensure compliance with site procedures, while driving a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across underground operations. Working closely with technical services, maintenance and operational teams, you will play a key role in achieving outcomes and supporting the success of Tanamis underground mine. As part of our team, you will Lead and supervise underground crews to achieve safe targets Coordinate daily activities in line with mine plans and schedules Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures and HSLP programmes Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives Support and develop team capability through coaching and guidance Identify risks and implement effective control measures Collaborate with technical, maintenance and operational teams Oversee safe and efficient use of mining equipment Manage workforce activities including timekeeping and reporting Prerequisites For Your Success In This Role Demonstrated experience in underground paste fill, mine services and shotcrete Previous supervisory or leadership experience (highly regarded) Strong understanding of safety and mining practices Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams Experience managing risk and maintaining compliance with safety systems Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to work in a fastpaced, dynamic underground environment Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence Current Australian drivers licence Mask fit ready Your Work Environment FIFO 14 / 14 Roster Reside in our fully equipped accommodation village Approved pointofhire locations: Darwin, Alice Springs, Perth and Brisbane Whats On Offer Industrycompetitive remuneration package Annual performance incentives FIFO allowance Health & Wellbeing Allowance Access to employee benefits, career development and progression opportunities with a global organisation Join us and play a critical role in maintaining a safe, reliable and highperforming underground operation.
