Bradken is equipping the resource sector to sustainably advance society.As our Design Engineer, you''ll be joining a global leader in the design, manufacture and supply of wear products and services for mining equipment.With 3,000 team members worldwide and a bold goal of carbon neutrality by 2030, youll be part of a diverse team driving innovation, accuracy and service excellence.Role Purpose & Contribution:The Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing products and engineering solutions that support Bradkens Mineral Processing portfolio, with a primary focus on fixed plant equipment, particularly chute and associated equipment design.This position works closely with internal teams and customers to translate operational needs into engineering solutions. It also supports sales and manufacturing by providing technical expertise, improving product performance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and engineer new products, as well as modify existing products to improve performance and reliability.Develop detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and engineering documentation to support manufacturing and product deployment.Apply analysis and simulation techniques where required to validate designs and ensure performance outcomes.Technical Support & Customer EngagementProvide technical support to internal stakeholders, including sales and manufacturing teams, to ensure successful product delivery.Engage with customers to understand operational challenges and translate these into practical engineering solutions.Attend site visits to support product installation, conduct inspections, and assess product performance.Identify opportunities to improve product design, performance, and manufacturing efficiency.Contribute to the development and maintenance of engineering standards, processes, and best practices.Capture and maintain engineering knowledge and intellectual property to support ongoing product development.Documentation & Quality CompliancePrepare and review technical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering standards.Ensure all designs align with relevant Australian and international quality and manufacturing standards.Manage document control processes to support manufacturing, sales, and product lifecycle management.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.Support the transition of new or updated designs into production, ensuring smooth implementation.Assist in coordinating design changes, including product updates and component transitions.About YouQualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.Diploma in Mechanical Engineering may be considered with relevant industry experience.ExperienceExperience in product design within a mining, mineral processing, or heavy manufacturing environment.Demonstrated problem-solving capability to develop practical and effective engineering solutions.Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering outcomes.Technical SkillsProficiency in CAD software, including 3D modelling and 2D drafting (preferably Siemens NX or similar).Experience or familiarity with engineering analysis tools such as FEA (e.g., ANSYS) or DEM (desirable).Experience with PLM systems such as Teamcenter (desirable).Familiarity with 3D scanning and reverse engineering tools such as Geomagic (desirable).Knowledge & CapabilityKnowledge of mineral processing equipment, material handling systems, or similar industries (desirable).Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques.Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001 and engineering standards.Awareness of safety standards and compliance requirements in engineering environmentsThis role is based in Burswood, WAIf youre ready to step into a role where strategy meets execution and leadership drives results, wed love to hear from you.Be challenged.
