As a Nurse Donation Specialist (NDS), you will play a key role in creating influence, supporting hospital teams, and facilitating organ and tissue donation to improve outcomes for patients and families across Australia. This role is suited to an experienced senior nurse who can work autonomously, communicate with sensitivity, and lead change within clinical teams and is paid at a ZA7ZA8. What youll do Champion and implement the Best Practice Guidelines for Offering Organ and Tissue Donation Operate in alignment with the Human Tissue Act 1982 Lead and embed all elements of the Clinical Practice Improvement Program (CPIP) and support Hospital Action Plan (HAP) reporting Facilitate organ and tissue donation processes within your hospital, under the guidance of senior donation leads Assess and collate clinical information to determine donation suitability Obtain informed consent from families and ensure all legal documentation is completed Provide information to donor families with compassion, clarity and professionalism Key Responsibilities Drive bestpractice donation processes in your hospital Participate in governance, audit, committee and workinggroup activity Support statewide strategy, education and awareness initiatives Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all legal requirements Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and escalate appropriately Skills & Experience Current AHPRA registration (General) Extensive senior nursing or clinical leadership experience Ability to work autonomously and resolve complex problems Personal resilience and ability to navigate sensitive circumstances Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including engaging empathetically with bereaved families and leading stakeholders toward shared goals We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, mature age workers, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.
