This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys handson fieldwork, thrives in an active openpit environment, and wants to contribute to efficient, safe, and productive mining operations.## **About the Role**As a Mine Geologist, youll play a key role in guiding daily mining activities through accurate geological input and strong collaboration with our technical and operational teams. From ore control and inpit mapping to drilling, reconciliation, and data validation, your work will directly support safe extraction and highquality ore delivery.This role offers a great blend of fieldwork and technical work, along with the chance to grow your skills in a supportive team environment.## **Key Responsibilities*** Deliver core openpit geological work, including ore block design, ore markups, and blast movement adjustments to support efficient and accurate mining.* Track, record, and validate daily ore and waste movements to ensure data accuracy and operational compliance.* Contribute to weekly planning and scheduling for inpit geological activities, working closely with the technical and operational teams.* Carry out detailed inpit geological mapping to support ongoing interpretation and pit optimisation.* Support grade control and exploration drilling programs, including geological interpretation for current and future openpit areas.* Complete highquality geological logging of RC chips and diamond core.* Assist with reconciliation, wall mapping, and QAQC requirements to maintain geological integrity and operational performance.## **Required Skills & Experience*** Tertiary qualification in Geology.* Ideally 1+ years experience as an Open Pit Mine Geologist.* Experience with Leapfrog or similar software.* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.* Excellent communication skills and proven ability to build collaborative working relationships.* A cando, teamoriented attitude.* Commitment to maintaining a proactive and safe working environment.* Current National Police Clearance.* C Class Manual Drivers License**The Westgold Offer:** A permanent full-time position at a successful gold producer **A range of benefits including:*** Performance based bonus* Group salary continuous insurance* A health and wellness allowance Health insurance discount* A range of Family and Medical leave policies that includes IVF, surrogacy and adoption.* Referral Bonus - bring your mates along!* 5 years'' pro rata long service leave* Salary sacrifice options* Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that include free confidential counselling, wellbeing services that includes financial advice.Our full list of benefits and why we are recognised as an Endorsed Employer for Women by Work 180 can be seen on the Work180 website.Westgold is driven by our core values of Show Respect, Choose Safety and Deliver Value.
