Role Summary We are seeking a capable and technically strong Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role plays a key part in delivering accurate, compliant and timely financial reporting within a complex, safetycritical aviation environment. Key Responsibilities Leading the monthend close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to reporting timelines. Preparing monthly financial statements including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow in accordance with AASB / IFRS standards. Maintaining robust balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring general ledger integrity. Preparing annual statutory financial statements and coordinating the external audit process. Preparing and lodging BAS, ensuring GST, PAYG and other compliance obligations are met accurately and on time. Managing lease accounting in accordance with AASB 16 / IFRS 16 requirements. Maintaining fixed asset and lease registers and supporting inventory accounting processes. Preparing and submitting ABS surveys and regulatory energy scheme reporting, ensuring compliance with applicable reporting requirements. Supporting executive monthend reporting and contributing to management presentations. Providing technical accounting guidance within the finance team and supporting junior team development. Proactively driving innovation in financial processes, leading the optimisation of internal controls, and transforming reporting systems to deliver exceptional business insights. Assisting with financial analysis and modelling to support business performance and decisionmaking. Required Qualifications & Experience CA or CPA qualified (or near completion). Demonstrated experience managing monthend reporting within a medium to large organisation. Strong working knowledge of AASB / IFRS accounting standards. Experience preparing statutory financial statements and working with external auditors. Experience in aviation, engineering, resources or other complex, regulated industries will be highly valued and provide a competitive advantage. Strong ERP system capability, with advanced proficiency in enterprise financial systems (Workday experience particularly preferred).
