AVIATION SUPPORT BUSINESS OF THE YEAR 2025 AUSTRALASIA''S AIRLINE CATERER OF THE YEAR 2025Typical DayAs a Senior Catering Attendant (Cook), you are an integral member of our team, preparing all elements required to deliver a memorable dining experience for passengers on our airline customers'' flights. Your role spans light food prep, packing, assembling meals, and supporting chefs in bulk food production.ResponsibilitiesAssist chefs in preparing recipes for bulk food production across our customers.Measure ingredients, read recipe cards, clean, cut, and portion fruit, vegetables and some proteins.Handle food, plate meals, and assemble meal trays according to visual guidelines.Stock airline carts to customer specifications with dry store items, equipment (cups, plates, crockery, glassware, napkins), packaged snacks, and beverages (water, soft drinks, alcohol).Comply with Food Safety and HACCP guidelines and adhere to hygiene standards and cleaning schedules.Continuously maintain a clean and sanitary workstation before, during, and after shifts.Communicate and coordinate with team members to ensure delivery deadlines.QualificationsSound numerical skills.Strong knife skills (safe, efficient, and repetitive use of various knives for food prep).Good verbal and written communication skills.Ability to stand for prolonged periods, move, and lift items.Ability to work shift work across a 7day roster.Neat and tidy presentation.Knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP (desired but not essential).Comfortable wearing PPE gear along with a standardised uniform.Required to obtain a clear National Police Check.Availability to work 38 hours per week as a fulltime permanent position.BenefitsBe part of a closeknit and dedicated team committed to safety.Competitive pay rates and generous hourly penalties.Free onsite parking, daily staff meals, and uniforms.Career development and progression.Apprenticeship opportunity (we will pay for your studies to become a qualified chef).5 weeks annual leave per 12 months of service.Discounts at hundreds of retailers, discounted health insurance, and wellbeing resources including online exercise classes.About UsWe are Australia''s largest and most admired inflight catering and retail partner.
