In addition, The University of Sydney is ranked 18th in the world overall and 2nd in Australia in a wide range of disciplines; our excellence in research, teaching and sustainability makes us one of the top universities in Australia.We are seeking a Lecturer (Level B) in the discipline of Occupational Therapy who is enthusiastic to advance health education for the next generation of occupational therapists to improve health outcomes for all communities.The incumbent will be committed to make significant contribution to teaching and learning and engage in educational leadership within their School/Faculty. This is a continuing 40% (teaching), 40% (research), and 20% (service) position, and offers an opportunity to develop and contribute to research and teaching in occupational therapy as part of a multi-disciplinary team at the Faculty of Medicine and Health.Your key responsibilitiesUndertake a leadership role in educational innovation, curriculum design and review, contributing to outstanding educational delivery and outcomesEngage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the University''s expectations and standards for educationDesign and deliver quality educational units of study and experiences that support student needs and meet curriculum requirementsDesign and deliver multi-disciplinary work-integrated learning units and contentEngage in supervision of higher-degree research studentsApply scholarship and knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practice to innovate educationCarry out administrative tasks primarily connected with the area of disciplineContribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabledEstablish partnerships, collaborations and engage in translational research for impactful outcomes in research, development, commercialisation, and policy improvementEstablish collaborations and partnerships to enhance the research profile and reputation of the universityUndertake other duties appropriate within the classification level as required.About youA degree in occupational therapyPhD or nearing completion, or equivalent in the discipline of occupational therapy or relevant fieldStrong or developing research profile evidenced by original, high-quality researchClinical experience as an occupational therapist in neurology, community practice, occupational/work rehabilitation or clinical education highly desirableEligibility for registration with AHPRA Australia or existing registration with AHPRA is desirableProven experience in supervising and mentoring studentsExperience in teaching and learning, as evidenced by participation in team teaching and teaching in a variety of settingsDemonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiativesExperience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activitiesA developing knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the discipline and higher education sectorApplication detailsA cover letter.Written response to selection criteria addressing your ability to meet the requirements outlined above within the context of the key responsibilities of the role (maximum 1000 words).Your current CV or resume, including two referees.Please ensure your cover letter is clear, concise, addresses the selection criteria, and states the type of employment in which you are applying.Pre-employment checksYour employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
