Senior Consultant at Taylor Hopkinson | Offshore WindAbout the RoleWe are supporting a leading renewable energy services provider in the search for an experienced Control Room Operator to join a 24/7 operations centre responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of solar, wind, and battery assets across Australia.This role is central to real-time operational performance, grid stability, and regulatory compliance. You will work with transmission operators such as TransGrid, manage SCADA systems, respond to alarms and outages, and ensure safe, reliable operation of highvoltage assets.The position requires strong technical capability, excellent situational awareness, and the ability to operate confidently in a highstakes environment where decisions directly impact plant performance and safety.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor, operate, and optimise performance of multiple renewable generating assets using advanced SCADA systems.Coordinate realtime operations with TransGrid and other network service providers to maintain compliance and system stability.Identify and respond to alarms, grid events, and equipment abnormalities, initiating appropriate response actions.Apply electrical knowledge to diagnose performance issues, assess system risks, and support HV/MV operational decisions.Interpret and apply operational contracts, grid requirements, and regulatory obligations.Maintain accurate operator logs, reporting plant status, outages, capacity availability, and incident responses.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 46 years'' experience in power plant operations, grid operations, or electrical system control rooms.Strong understanding of electrical systems, power system dynamics, HV/MV equipment, and grid behaviour.Proven experience operating or troubleshooting SCADA systems and CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo).Experience working with transmission operators (TransGrid preferred) or within the National Electricity Market (NEM).Ability to work a rotating 12hour day/night roster in a 24/7 operations environment.Relevant electrical, engineering, or operations apprenticeship/qualification (degree or trade).Seniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeFulltime #J-18808-Ljbffr
