We are Compassionate, Respectful, Imaginative and Bold.Role OverviewWe are seeking a confident and highly capable Talent Acquisition Specialist to join Uniting on a short term, fixedterm contract over the Christmas period and into early 2026. Supporting our corporate portfolio, you will step into a fastpaced environment where proactive, selfdirected work is essential.In this role, you will partner closely with leaders and stakeholders, manage endtoend recruitment activities, and contribute to our broader talent acquisition strategy and employer brand initiatives. You will also help maintain effective recruitment practices, strengthen candidate engagement, and ensure a seamless onboarding experience all while keeping momentum through the holiday period.This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned recruiter with strong sourcing capability, polished communication skills, and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesManage endtoend recruitment, picking up requisitions immediately and operating with minimal direction.Proactively source candidates across SEEK, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other channels, maintaining strong, engaged candidate pools.Interpret CVs, position descriptions and cover letters to make informed recommendations to hiring managers.Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including agencies, educational institutions, and industry partners.Provide clear, timely communication to candidates, hiring managers and business leaders.Confidently negotiate salary, including explaining notforprofit salary packaging.Prepare accurate contracts in Dayforce and ensure onboarding documentation is complete.Support the development and continuous improvement of Uniting''s talent acquisition practices in line with organisational strategy.Produce monthly updates for leadership on talent acquisition metrics, initiatives and market insights.Seek and share market intelligence to strengthen attraction, assessment, and sourcing approaches.Train and support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.Manage all recruitment administration, including ATS updates, job postings, weekly recruitment updates and onboarding activities.Identify emerging market trends and talent opportunities and communicate these to key stakeholders.Contribute to commercial strategy, continuous improvement, and regular business review sessions.Drive and maintain relationships with Agency panel members.Promote safe work practices and support an inclusive, welcoming environment for colleagues of all backgrounds and identities.Qualifications and ExperienceTypically, this role requires two or more years'' experience in a similar recruitment or talent acquisition role.Proven experience delivering endtoend recruitment, ideally across both agency and inhouse environments.Strong sourcing capability across multiple channels with a proactive, intuitive, and selfdirected approach.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior candidates and leaders including the ability to push back when required.Demonstrated experience supporting internal and external customers with a high level of professionalism.Skilled in stakeholder management, influencing, and partnering with professionals at all levels.Experience delivering employer branding activities, attending events, and supporting recruitment marketing initiatives.Strong problemsolving ability and commitment to achieving optimal outcomes for candidates and hiring managers.High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in HR technology and applicant tracking systems.A genuine passion for recruitment, with interest in marketing, social media, and new sourcing approaches.Ability to operate confidently through the Christmas/holiday slowdown with resilience and adaptability.Experience managing external recruitment suppliers, agencies and vendors.Experience reviewing recruitment processes to drive efficiency and improve engagement.Even betterFamiliarity with Dayforce, including system and process configuration.Experience working in the notforprofit sector.How to applySubmit your CV and a brief cover letter highlighting why this role appeals to you - Applications reviewed upon receipt.Uniting NSW.ACT contributes to the work and mission of the Uniting Church in NSW and the ACT through social justice advocacy, community services and spiritual care.
