Company OverviewA leading Australian financial services organisation, renowned for career development opportunities, is experiencing rapid growth and looking for a Principal Infrastructure Specialist to join their team.Role OverviewThis role will lead the support and enhancement of mainframe integration and middleware platforms. You''ll play a critical part in enabling modern digital applications by securely exposing core mainframe services via z/OS Connect and WebSphere Application Server (WAS / Liberty).Key ResponsibilitiesConfigure, maintain, and support z/OS Connect server instances, including connection profiles and security settingsDeploy and support REST APIs exposing CICS, IMS, and DB2 servicesTroubleshoot integration issues such as data conversion, special character handling, and ASCII/EBCDIC mismatchesMonitor API performance and optimise throughput using SMF data and Splunk analyticsInstall, configure, and maintain WAS and WAS Liberty environmentsManage application deployments including EAR/WAR packaging, JVM tuning, and environment configurationTroubleshoot connectivity issues between WAS, MQ, DB2, and z/OS ConnectKey Skills & ExperienceStrong handson experience with z/OS Connect and/or WAS LibertySolid understanding of mainframe environmentsExperience with JCL, TSO/ISPF, and Unix System Services (USS)Awareness of RACF / ACF2 security conceptsStrong troubleshooting skills across middleware and integration layersExperience working in large enterprise or regulated environmentsSplunk for monitoring and analyticsSMPE experienceExposure to API performance tuning and capacity managementExperience supporting highavailability, missioncritical platformsWhat''s on OfferOpportunity to work on enterprisescale, businesscritical platformsExposure to modern API enablement of mainframe systemsCollaborative environment with strong technical depthClick on the ''APPLY'' button or email [email protected] are committed to providing a supportive culture and positively contributing towards creating diverse and inclusive workplaces for our candidates & clients.
