The Solution Specialist Unit team within the Microsoft Security organization is at the forefront of this effort, engaging directly with customers to contribute to their success.As a Security Solutions Engineer, you will be a senior technical sales leader and trusted customer advisor, working with cuttingedge security technologies such as Microsoft Defender for XDR and Sentinel. You will lead a vteam of other internal, partner and consulting resources to map Microsoft solutions to customer security challenges, demonstrate and prove our solutions, and win the technical decision enabling the team to achieve/exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets. You will help solve complex security challenges for our customers, enabling them to modernize their security architecture and posture.This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.Microsoft''s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more...ResponsibilitiesPrimary technical point of contact for potential customers during the sales process, owning and driving technical win for security opportunities.Deep technical understanding of cloud security architectures, solutions/technologies including Microsoft M365 Defender, Defender for cloud, Sentinel and expertise in extended detection and response (XDR), zero trust and cloud security solutions and architectures.Remediate blockers; lead and ensure technical wins for Microsoft Security and adjacent technologies. Engage with and reach out to customers proactively and independently; build credibility as a trusted advisor and use Microsoft Security customer references; facilitate handoff to customer success for postsales deployment.Develop strategies and recommendations to improve the client''s security posture, shape technical win plan and tailor Microsoft messaging to the audience for security opportunities.Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, architecture design sessions, explain, demonstrate, and architect the solution to help solve customer security challenges and priorities.Drive crossworkload support for Microsoft solutions for security. Leverage insights and coach teams to align new or changing technology to customer security needs.Responsible for engaging with other teams within and outside the organization throughout the sales cycle, engaging partners in sellwith scenarios and supporting their technical capabilities.Required Qualifications5+ years of technical presales or technical consulting experienceOR Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 4+ years of experienceOR Master''s degree in a related field and 3+ years of experience OR equivalent relevant experiencePreferred Qualifications6+ years in technical presales, technical consulting, or technology delivery4+ years of experience with cloud, hybrid, or onpremises infrastructurecovering architecture design, migrations, technology management, and industry standards7+ years of total experience in technical presales, consulting, or a related technical roleStrong knowledge of cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and familiarity with security frameworks such as CIS, NIST, or CSAHandson experience with SIEM systems, nextgen firewalls and secure web gateways, threat detection, log analysis, incident response, cloud security architectures (e.g., Zero Trust, CSPM, CWPP, CIEM, cloud code security)Technical certifications in any of the following are regarded highly: Microsoft 365 Security Administration, Azure Security, Azure Architect or Developer certifications, Office 365, Power BI, industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, IAAPOther RequirementsThis position requires verification of Australian citizenship due to citizenshipbased legal restrictions.
