You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.About the RoleWSP''s National Technical Contracting (Geotechnical Laboratories) business is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee our South Australian region, including two established NATA-accredited testing facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of approximately 10 staff, drive technical excellence, and grow our laboratory services for both internal and external clients.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and promote Health and Safety across laboratory operationsProvide technical leadership, mentoring, and support for staff developmentOversee laboratory testing and project delivery to prescribed technical standards (ASTM & Australian Standards)Manage laboratory equipment calibration and maintenanceEnsure staff training in health, safety, and technical protocolsInterpret and analyse test data, ensuring compliance with NATA requirementsPrepare reports, proposals, and documentation as requiredBuild and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholdersConduct project site visits and participate in project-specific rostersApprove timesheets and expenses, and produce quarterly status reportsManage sample storage and disposalOther duties as requiredKey AttributesDegree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or similar relevant qualificationMinimum 3 years'' full-time experience in construction materials testingDemonstrated commitment to Health and SafetyStrong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skillsKnowledge of NATA accreditation requirements and Australian test methodsSolid troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work autonomouslyProject management experience (PM level 2 or above preferred)Experience in consultancy or laboratory testing environmentsDeveloped industry or internal network for business developmentWillingness to undertake first aid training (supported by WSP)Flexibility to meet role expectationsFull driving licence requiredBenefitsDevelop skills in project, budget, people, marketing, leadership, stakeholder engagement, and reportingExpand your professional network locally and nationallyBuild your personal brand within a leading organisationGain experience managing a P&L within the National Technical Contracting businessAccommodation and vehicle provided if located in Roxby DownsJoin Our CommunityAn employee Share Purchase Plan is available to all our permanent employees who wish to become owners and vested partners in WSP''s collective success.
