Based in Glen Waverley, you''ll be responsible for delivering protection and control designs, including fuse reach studies, ACR settings, and secondary systems for new substations and associated assets.Key responsibilities include:Develop and review protection and secondary designs for distribution networks, including fusing schemes and Auto Circuit Recloser (ACR) protection settings.Prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, and logic drawings for protection and control systems as required.Configure and validate protection relay settings for various distribution applicationsConduct fault studies, coordination analysis, and grading reportsEnsure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal design guidelinesProducing design documentation for zone substation projectsSupporting engineering design and commissioning activitiesAuditing internal and subcontractor designsInvestigating protection anomalies and proposing solutionsAssisting with scopes, estimates, and specificationsContributing to team development and capability buildingAbout YouYou''re a qualified electrical engineer with a strong technical foundation and a detail-oriented approach. You''re ready to grow in a specialist function and contribute to building in-house capability.You''ll have:Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.34 years'' experience in distribution protection settings or secondary designStrong understanding of distribution network protection principles, including fusing, ACRs, and relay coordination.Hands-on experience with switches, ACRs, and substation protection settingsKnowledge of SCADA or secondary systems (advantageous)Proficiency in using design tools such as PowerFactory, ETAP, NEPLAN, or similar.Familiarity with AS/NZS standards, utility design practices, and SCADA/RTU integration.Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.Strong understanding of protection principles and commissioning processesAbility to prioritise tasks and manage time effectivelyStrong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsOur people are our energy source, and we offer meaningful benefits and rewards that work for you.
