OverviewJoin to apply for the Lawyer, Digital & Platforms role at NSW Department of Customer Service.Base pay range: A$113,574.00/yr - A$125,720.00/yrRole: Lawyer Digital & PlatformsLocation: Sydney CBD, hybrid working options availableGrade: Clerk Grade 07/08Employment Type: Ongoing, Full-TimeResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively with other lawyers to provide strategic, pragmatic, focused and accountable specialist legal advice and services across ICT, digital and commercial areas.Support commercial negotiations to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements and successful delivery of outcomes for projects.Draft documents and agreements including software acquisition/licensing, product development and intellectual property in information technology, digital transformation, and cloud service delivery.Interpret and distil complex legal issues for preparation of documents and contractual documentation to address statutory, ethical, probity and other legal obligations.About the team and projectsThe DCS Legal team supports a range of portfolio business clients including Digital.NSW, Government Technology Platforms and Service NSW. Projects include:Whole of Government contracts with major international technology vendorsDigital Identity and Verifiable CredentialsCybersecurity and privacy; Artificial Intelligence frameworksGovernment Shared Services; NSW Government Digital StrategyGovernment apps and platforms development; Intellectual PropertyQualificationsAdmitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of NSW and eligible to hold a current practising certificate as a solicitor.Proven stakeholder management, interpersonal and communication capability with the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with stakeholders to support delivery outcomes.Strong analytical ability, lateral thinking, and problem-solving skills including the ability to apply legal principles in a practical way.Client-focused team player who can adapt to change and independently manage competing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.Bachelor of Laws or equivalent; minimum 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience in Digital & Technology, Corporate & Commercial, IP or Privacy law.What we need from youSubmit a covering letter (maximum two pages) and an up-to-date resume (maximum five pages) which clearly details your skills and experience relevant to this position.
