Join to apply for the Legal Officer role at NSW Electoral Commission1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicantsThe Legal Officer provides legal and policy advice and services to internal stakeholders to meet government obligations and ensure compliance with the law.The role is Ongoing Full-time position.Key knowledge, experience and essential requirementsRelevant tertiary qualifications.Law Society of NSW or equivalent Practicing Certificate.Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support the advice and services provided by the Legal team.Be able to provide legal and policy support to more senior legal officers in their areas of practice, which include regulatory prosecutions; statutory interpretation and instrument drafting; and preparation of instructions to the Crown Solicitor''s Office.Experience in preparing correspondence, research reports, submissions, briefing notes and other documents as required.Relevant knowledge and skills to be able to contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation governing the functions of the Commission and the Staff Agency.About the NSW Electoral CommissionThe New South Wales Electoral Commission delivers trusted and independent systems, processes, oversight and engagement that support democracy in New South Wales.
