Switchboard Project Engineer (SA) The Position The Project Engineer role is a project management savvy technical expert position. The Project Engineer will be responsible to deftly manage routine project responsibilities delegated to them by the Project Managers, as well as mange/resolve engineering issues through the project''s life cycle. At their core, the appropriate candidate will be an expert at coordination and bringing together stakeholders of every level for effective and profitable project deliveries. Key Responsibilities Engagement and management of subcontractors and suppliers. Support PMs to develop project schedules by providing required times for completing the deliverables. Scope clarifications, handling RFIs, and maintaining ongoing communication with clients and stakeholders. Project specification and tender review. Engagement with third-party engineering companies, to verify different aspects including structural, HVAC and LUX requirements. Technical support to designers and drafters. Design reviews of projects in line with specifications, scope, standards, and compliance requirements. Compliance certification management. Estimation and material procurement (Including take-offs, selections, and RFQs). Inspection and commissioning management. Project documentation, including IOM preparation and MDR review. Ongoing coordination with the project and construction team. The successful applicant will preferably have: The successful candidate ideally has extensive experience working in a ProjectEngineering on small to medium sized industrial projects. This role will offer an immediate start and an attractive rate of pay for the appropriate candidate. Excellent communication skills, customer service skills, coupled with effective trouble shooting skills. Experience and knowledge on project management principles. Ability to manage the competing demands of multi, simultaneous projects. Establishing, managing, and reporting on project schedule, delivery, and stake holder management. Advanced computer skills predominantly Excel and Microsoft Project. Ability to interpret single line diagrams and schematics. Desired Competencies Diploma or certificate in Building Construction or Electrical Engineering. Schedule Full-time A 38-hour week (Monday Friday + reasonable overtime).
