This entrylevel position provides handson exposure to plant operations, maintenance planning, and engineering projects within a GMPregulated environment. The Graduate Plant Engineer assists with daytoday plant support, maintenance coordination, breakdown response, and continuous improvement activities. The role involves supporting the coordination of maintenance, repairs, and commissioning activities, while contributing to engineering projects to ensure minimal disruption to site operations. It also utilises the centralised maintenance management system to improve the reliability and availability of site buildings, plant, and equipment. Collaboration with management, maintenance technicians, and operational teams is key to ensuring efficient maintenance delivery, reducing downtime, and improving plant performance. The role will contribute to plant improvement initiatives such as energy efficiency, solar projects, CO management, and grow room optimisation.ResponsibilitiesProvide daytoday engineering support, assisting with mechanical breakdowns, maintenance, and repairs.Support engineering projects across all stagesconcept, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.Prepare or contribute to technical drawings, documentation, and reports.Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and contractors.Contribute to defect elimination and continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis.Promote and adhere to safety standards from design through to implementation and operation.Schedule or support scheduling of preventative maintenance activities using the maintenance management system.Create and maintain asset registers, equipment hierarchies, maintenance plans, and spare parts data.Work collaboratively with Planning, Production, and Maintenance teams to prioritise and schedule maintenance activities with minimal production impact.Generate or contribute to maintenance reports and KPIs to monitor performance.Support or manage spare parts inventory, including stocktakes.Liaise with and coordinate contractors, ensuring compliance documentation is maintained.Provide general engineering and maintenance support as required.Participate in an oncall roster (as required and appropriate to experience level).Work within GxP environments, including Deviations, CAPAs and Change controls.About YouQualifications / LicensesTertiary qualification (4year) in Engineering (or related discipline) or currently completing finalyear/industry placement requirements (preferred); Accreditation under Engineers Australia or the Washington Accord.Graduate level through to 12years experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial environment.Exposure to maintenance planning, project work, or reliability engineering (preferred).Experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives (preferred).Experience and SkillsUnderstanding of mechanical systems and equipment.Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) (preferred).Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (preferred).Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Problemsolving mindset with attention to detail.Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in an industrial environment (preferred).Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance in a regulated environment.Team collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with various departments and external contractors.Proactive approach to safety with a commitment to championing safety through all project phases.An energetic, highly motivated, detailoriented, flexible individual who is willing to take on particular tasks as the need arises.Why Join Us?Play a key role in shaping cultivation and supply strategy within a growing and innovative medicinal cannabis company.Contribute to a fastevolving industry where innovation, problem solving, and continuous improvement are highly valued.Be part of a collaborative and purposedriven team focused on improving patient access to highquality medicinal cannabis products.Opportunity to work closely with experienced leaders across cultivation, manufacturing, and commercial teams.Flexible working arrangement.Employment benefits including birthday leave, wellness leave, novated leasing, exclusive discounts/perks, and more.An EAP offering a modern approach to supporting your wellbeing.Click Apply today.Cann Group is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
