Student Counsellor, Student Wellbeing Fremantle Campus Parttime (0.8), Continuing opportunity must be available on a Friday. Contribute to the provision of professional counselling services for students. Key Responsibilities Provide a confidential and ethical counselling service to University students and, where appropriate, refer students to external agencies to support longterm counselling objectives. Provide assessment, casemanagement, counselling and referral of students, including students in high risk situations and with complex mental health concerns. Actively participate in peer and group supervision, case reviews, and quality assurance processes, including maintaining accurate student records and contributing to client outcome evaluation. Deliver crisis intervention support and strategies with students and provide referrals (including secondary) to those affected by incidents involving students. Deliver workshops and facilitate individual and group interventions using approaches such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness, clientcentred, and shortterm solutionfocused counselling. Collaborate with university departments to provide specialist input into student mental wellbeing, safety, pastoral care, mediation, and learning support initiatives. Qualifications, skills & experience Relevant tertiary qualifications in psychology or counselling and relevant experience with an understanding of the higher education sector and student challenges. Hold registration with a relevant professional body such as AHPRA, the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), and/or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). Significant experience in delivering workshops both with individuals and groups. Ability to provide a range of counselling services tailored to student needs that is evidencebased. Demonstrated experience in outcomeinformed counselling approaches, including strong assessment, intervention and referral skills. Experienced in working with highrisk students and in assessment and treatment of complex mental health issues. Experience addressing the needs of diverse student groups, including equity and international students, with strong cultural awareness and inclusivity. Ability to communicate and present information to internal stakeholders. Excellent organisational and timemanagement skills, with a proven ability to juggle competing priorities, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Demonstrated proficiency in casemanagement systems for accurate case notes and appointment scheduling, supported by strong computer literacy. Benefits Located in historic Fremantle.
