Registrar - Paediatric Advanced Trainee 2027 | WA Country Health Service Date published: Apr 17, 2026, 08:19 AM Location Albany, Broome, Bunbury, Geraldton & Karratha, WA Description WA Country Health Service (WACHS) seeks to train the next wave of Paediatricians with many Advanced Trainee positions across the stunning regions of South West, Kimberley, Great Southern, Pilbara and Midwest. The positions are accredited for up to 12months of Advanced Training in General Paediatrics, with 6month options considered where necessary. Enthusiastic registrars are required to join our teams at all hospital sites. Hospital Sites Albany STP funded position Broome STP funded position Bunbury STP funded position Geraldton STP funded position Karratha STP funded position Eligibility & Training Requirements Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia. Enrolled in the Paediatrics Training Program, RACP or equivalent, with satisfactory progression as an advanced trainee. Demonstrated current clinical experience in paediatrics and management of acutely unwell children and neonates. Demonstrated organisational and timemanagement skills, with highly developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflictresolution skills. Commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching of resident, nursing staff and medical students. Commitment to clinical governance (patient safety and quality), quality assurance, continuous improvement and clinical research in paediatrics and adolescent health. Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the Aboriginal Cultural Respect Framework. Current Cclass drivers licence and an ability and willingness to travel, including overnight stays. Experience or interest in rural paediatric practice. Possession of current Advanced Life Support, Advanced Paediatric Life Support or Emergency Management of Severe Trauma certificates. Demonstrated ability to monitor and review own effectiveness. Experience working with clients from a variety of cultural/ethnic backgrounds.
