OverviewBasic Purpose Of Job The Financial Reporting Officer role within Global Delivery is responsible for planning, scheduling and managing the financial reporting workflow of one or more client relationships. The role involves interaction with various units locally and overseas. This Officer role should also possess excellent interpersonal, communication and people management skills and demonstrate the ability to lead a team with 5-12 FTEs. Accuracy, timeliness and delivery of client service are imperative in this position with increased focus towards quality controls, documentation and process improvements.ResponsibilitiesReview monthly, quarterly and annual financial/regulatory reports and related work when theres a need.Ensure timely and accurate production of financial statements and related regulatory filings, as applicable, for each client relationship.Answer and handle complex issues and queries and escalate as needed; act with a sense of urgency to meet required deliverables. Be accountable for assigned tasks and deadlines for self and for the team.Identify risk issues, breaches and act in accordance with the risk escalation chain and operating procedures. Ensure all controls and procedures are adhered to as well as make recommendations for changes.Act as escalation point where applicable.Oversee effective coordination of activities with other departments.Develop internal training classes with the training liaison.Documentation review and correct process documentation such as process flows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coach the team.Understand end-to-end process and seek support to clear inter-process upstream/downstream dependencies; suggest process improvements and drive projects to create efficiencies and enhance controls.Ensure effective use of reporting system and make recommendations for system enhancements.Work with regulatory client service team to effectively manage auditor/client queries.Understand client requirements and guide the team towards efficiently managing its deliverables.Evaluate staffing needs while continually striving for greater efficiencies.Ensure all personnel are appropriately selected, thoroughly trained and given timely and complete performance evaluation feedback.Remain informed of regulatory changes and new industry and competitor developments.Other special projects or tasks assigned.Job RequirementsEducation and ExperiencePost Graduates (CA/CPA/CFA qualified) preferably or Bachelor degree with Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm relevant experienceAt least 7+ years of experience in a financial reporting or financial services environment. 2-3 years supervisory experience is required.Solid experience in statutory reporting and applications of accounting standards in accordance with IFRS and GAAPGood leadership, negotiation and analytical skills, proven track record of efficiency creation, staff development and people management skillsSkills/ KnowledgeGood understanding of managed investment funds, relevant accounting standards and applicabilityFamiliar with financial services and investment productsDetailed oriented individual capable of performing in a high pace environmentDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines and possess strong problem solving and resolution skillsGood knowledge of Internal Systems, MS Office (Excel, Word)Data & Analysis - possesses strong attention to detail.
