Position VetPartners Sydney, Macquarie Park, NSW (Full time RR-10049) Responsibilities Treat animals medically and surgically, including the administration and prescription of drugs, analgesics, general and local anaesthetics. Determine abnormal conditions through physical examination, laboratory testing, radiography and ultrasound. Perform surgery, dress wounds and set broken bones. Provide obstetric services to animals. Participate in disease prevention programs. Inoculate animals and test for infectious diseases, notifying authorities of outbreaks. Perform autopsies to determine cause of death. Advise clients on health, nutrition, hygiene, breeding and animal care. Offer professional services to commercial firms involved in biological and pharmaceutical production. Specialise in particular animal groups or specialties, such as cardiology, ophthalmology, surgery, oncology, radiology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, chiropractic, dermatology or critical care. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience as a small animal practitioner; 2 years as an ECC veterinarian; 3 years as a specialist. Bachelor of Veterinary Science or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine accredited by the AVBC. Completion of the NAVLE, AVE examination, and eligibility for registration in the state of practice. International veterinarians with at least 1 year of fulltime postqualification experience may be eligible for sponsorship. Demonstrated high standards of care with a proactive, accountable approach. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Handson, dedicated, hardworking attitude with effective time management and organisational skills.
