Tradesperson Mechanical - Forrestfield (Residential Role) Location: Forrestfield Roster and Remuneration / Benefits This is a permanent, residential role based in Forrestfield not FIFO. Youll be home every night, working steady hours with strong pay under an Enterprise Agreement. Roster - 3week rotating (with ADOs) Week 1: Monday to Saturday - 0630 to 1430 Week 2: Monday to Friday - 0630 to 1430 Week 3: Monday to Friday - 1400 to 2200 Accrued Day Off: One paid day off every four weeks (ADO) Hourly pay (EA rates) Current: $47.83 per hour + penalties From July 2026: $51.35 per hour (6% increase locked in) Saturday and afternoon shift penalties apply This role offers excellent pay without the FIFO lifestyle and longterm security with Australias largest rail freight operator. About the Role Were looking for a Mechanical Tradesperson to join the Forrestfield Rollingstock Maintenance team. This role suits tradespeople who want stable work, good money, and to stay local. Youll be responsible for maintaining and repairing rollingstock to keep freight moving safely and reliably across WA. Key responsibilities include: Mechanical servicing, maintenance and fault repairs on rollingstock Inspections and identification of defects Ensuring work is completed to safety and technical standards Recording maintenance activities and completed work Supporting other WA depots as required under the EA Full training on railspecific systems will be provided if you dont already have rail experience. About You Youll need: Mechanical Trade Certificate (essential) Strong commitment to safety Ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings Heavy industrial plant or mobile equipment experience is highly regarded, but we also welcome light vehicle mechanics looking to step into heavy plant work. Additional licences such as HR or Forklift are advantageous, not mandatory. Preemployment rail medical and drug & alcohol screening apply.
