The Role The Physiotherapy Acute Team Leader at Prince of Wales Hospital provides professional leadership, guidance, and line management to their team, ensuring the delivery of highquality, evidencebased physiotherapy services aligned with NSW Health and SESLHD policies. Working closely with the Department Head, the role involves planning, coordinating, and evaluating clinical services, setting operational objectives, and managing staffing functions such as recruitment, rostering, supervision, and performance development. The Team Leader is responsible for monitoring service delivery through KPI reporting, accurate data management, while maintaining a clinical caseload. They support staff development through education, mentorship, interdisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to continuous quality improvement, research, and compliance with NSQHS and WHS standards. The role also involves stakeholder engagement, incident and feedback management, and providing expert advice to multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient care outcomes. Responsibilities Provide professional leadership, guidance, and line management to the physiotherapy team. Plan, coordinate, and evaluate clinical services; set operational objectives. Manage staffing functions: recruitment, rostering, supervision, and performance development. Monitor service delivery through KPI reporting and accurate data management while maintaining a clinical caseload. Support staff development through education, mentorship, interdisciplinary collaboration. Contribute to continuous quality improvement, research, and ensure compliance with NSQHS and WHS standards. Engage stakeholders, manage incidents and feedback, and provide expert advice to multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications & Selection Criteria Qualifications in accordance with ScheduleC of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and the Physiotherapy Board of Australia, with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning. Extensive postgraduate clinical experience in cardiopulmonary physiotherapy, including ICU, respiratory, medical, surgical, cardiothoracics, and/or cardiology wards/services. Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of guidance, leadership and management of resources and services equivalent to the complexities of the role. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement in novel, complex or critical situations. Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes, applying evidencebased practice within the clinical area. Negotiation, decisionmaking and advocacy skills including constructive collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Current drivers licence (or willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
