Base salary ranges from $101,122 to $160,983, plus leave loading and employers contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience. Access to SCAC is available once a school counsellor has progressed through all salary steps and upon successful application for AdvancedCertification level against the NSW School Counselling Service PPF. Role Description School counsellors provide counselling and psychological assessment of students to complement and enhance the work of teachers, strengthen student learning and wellbeing outcomes, and help families understand and manage their childrens learning and mental health needs. The role offers opportunities for professional development and impact on the lives and learning of primary and highschool aged students. School counsellors receive regular individual supervision by the Senior Psychologist and peer/group supervision, collaborate with school communities, outside agencies, and multidisciplinary teams, and are supported to continue professional development and maintain registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. Qualifications & Selection Criteria Registered or provisionally registered psychologist, or eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. Experience in counselling using evidencebased interventions with a demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people. Experience in psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes of children and young people from diverse backgrounds and needs. Valid unrestricted provisional or full drivers licence with the ability to drive. Unconditional, full approval to teach or eligibility to apply for an approval to teach under the Teachers award.
