Regional Director Department for Child Protection Executive Contract, 3 years Location: Adelaide Overview The Regional Director is an executive leadership role tasked with shaping and delivering impact for children, families, and communities in South Australia. The Director provides strategic leadership and operational delivery within complex service environments, driving system reform, continuous improvement and practice excellence to strengthen service quality and outcomes. Responsibilities Lead a highperforming team and drive operational excellence across the region. Champion innovation and evidencebased practice in a complex service environment. Build trusted partnerships and influence outcomes at executive and system level. Oversee a region of approximately 300 staff within a fastpaced, highimpact environment. Maintain executive oversight of critical services and sustain operational leadership. Assess risks and opportunities to position the region for effective action and strategic progress. Contribute to statewide strategy through collective leadership, foster key partnerships, and ensure strong governance, risk management and stewardship. Focus on reducing the overrepresentation of Aboriginal children in outofhome care. Qualifications Applicants should demonstrate: Executive presence and strategic insight. Experience in child protection or senior leadership roles within adjacent sectors such as health, education, NGOs or human services. Ability to articulate how prior experience supports statutory child protection operations. A proven track record in complex, highpressure environments and influencing across the system.
