Join our fast-paced bakery as a Pastry Production Chef. Handson role prepping ingredients & working as part of a team. Location: Maggio''s Italian Bakery & Pasticceria - 463 Miller St, Cammeray, NSW 2062 Employment Type: Casual Schedule: Availability across Monday to Sunday Hours: 2:00 PM onwards | Rotating Roster Were looking for dependable, handson team players to join our fastpaced bakery kitchen as Pastry Production Chef. This is a solid opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, thrives in a team setting, and takes pride in getting the job done right. Youll be prepping ingredients, keeping the workspace organized, prepping sausage roll mix, spinach roll mix, making pie mixes, making pies, pastries and helping with basic production tasks. You dont need to be a pastry expertjust reliable, eager to learn, and ready to work in a fastpaced environment. Key Responsibilities: Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients (e.g., flour, sugar, dairy, fruits, nuts, etc.) according to recipes and batch requirements Assist with basic baking tasks such as mixing dough, portioning batter, or assembling baked goods Label, date, and store prepped ingredients and finished products properly Keep prep stations and kitchen equipment clean, sanitized, and organized Assist bakers and pastry chefs during busy production periods Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe guidelines) Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or spoilage Perform routine cleaning duties, including dishwashing and sanitizing tools and surfaces Support other kitchen tasks as assigned Working Conditions: Heavy lifting required Fastpaced kitchen environment with exposure to hot ovens, mixers, and other commercial kitchen equipment Requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 30kgs, and frequent use of hands for chopping, mixing, and handling kitchen tools Qualifications: Basic understanding of pastry techniques, dough handling, and finishing methods A good eye for detail and visual presentation Ability to work efficiently, cleanly, and consistently under pressure Willingness to learn and take direction in a collaborative team environment Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain one Previous kitchen or bakery experience preferred, especially in pastry or dessert production If you think that this is the role for you, we would love to hear from you! #J-18808-Ljbffr
