Job Title: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Employment Type: Fixed Term Full-Time ending June 2027 Hours per Fortnight: 80 Location: Shepparton Closing Date: 23/04/2026 About GV Health Mental Health Services: Our skilled and committed team of mental health professionals provide an innovative range of services for individuals suffering from, or at risk of, serious mental health problems requiring short and long-term treatment and support. Our comprehensive service is offered across the municipalities of Mitchell, Murrindindi, Strathbogie, Greater Shepparton and Moira regions. Our multidisciplinary professionals come from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines and work across a range of settings and services including: Adult Mental Health Community Mental Health Aged Persons Mental Health Child and Youth Mental Health About the program: The Greater Shepparton, Strathbogie & Moira Adult and Older Adult Local Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (GSSM Local) is delivered through a consortium comprising Wellways (lead agency), Goulburn Valley Health and APMHA HealthCare. The GSSM Local will operate 7 days a week with extended hours to support a flexible and responsive service. It will provide easy access, highquality assessment, treatment, care and support to people aged 26 years and over experiencing mental illness, psychological distress or drug and cooccurring substance use or addiction issues. The focus is on those whose needs cannot be met by primary and secondary mental health and alcohol and other drug providers alone, and who do not require intensive or ongoing care from Area Mental Health Services. About the role: The GSSM Local Mental Health Registered Psychiatric Nurse will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing specialist mental health nursing assessment, therapeutic intervention, care and support to people accessing the GSSM Local. They will collaborate with clinicians and livedexperience staff to deliver a new front door service to all adults seeking mental health and alcohol & other drug interventions and support within the Goulburn Valley area. The role requires working in tandem with clinical and other supports to assist service users in accessing the full range of interventions across the care continuum. Responsibilities include addressing factors affecting service userscognitive, occupational, physical and socialand delivering clientfocused therapeutic approaches for recoveryoriented, evidencebased care. We are looking for: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a registered nurse. Postgraduate diploma (or higher) in mental health nursing (or equivalent/related field) and at least five years of experience as an RPN. Expert understanding and working knowledge of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Act 2022. Highly developed specialist mental health nursing clinical and therapeutic skills stemming from experience in communitybased mental health nursing, community liaison and the development of community networks. Ability to effectively work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and to work autonomously in a selfdirected way, including working with initiative and with limited direction.
