Job Description An opportunity to work in QGS Freight, a business that continues to boom and grow each year Dynamic, exciting industry with opportunities for career progression Permanent, parttime position available at Perth Airport As Freight Ground Crew, you will work in different areas of the Freight department including Domestic and International, looking after our customers freight. You could be moving anything from beloved pets and animals to machinery, dangerous goods and packages. On a daytoday basis, you would be responsible for significant manual handling of freight where your duties include loading and unloading of aircraft. You will operate forklifts, tugs and heavy machinery. Additionally, youll operate computer systems, scanners, and lodge freight documents into the warehouse system (iCargo). Working with supervisors and managers, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills while progressing your career. Qualifications & Responsibilities A current and valid provisional or full state or territory drivers licence A current and valid forklift licence or willingness to obtain at your own expense The ability to repetitively lift items up to 32 kg in weight The ability to work all shifts in a dynamic 24hour, 7dayaweek, rotational shift roster (meaning shifts will vary from week to week) Ability to successfully pass a preemployment medical (Qantas funded) Previous experience using a forklift in a warehouse environment is preferred Recent experience in a manual handling or physical role within a fastpaced operational environment preferred A passion for safety and working within Work Health & Safety guidelines at all times Ability to work effectively within a team A hardworking nature and a positive can do attitude Displays care and responsibility for our customers freight Qantas is an equal opportunity employer, so by coming to work for us youll be part of an organisation that encourages diversity, supports charities and environmental initiatives.
