Job Overview This is a Permanent, Fixed Term, and Casual appointment at 76 hours per fortnight. The appointment may be extended or become permanent. It is part of an openended recruitment pool that will close on 30/06/2026. Position Clinical Nurse Specialist Community Mental Health. The role is based in the Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service Team in Derby and/or Fitzroy Crossing. Responsibilities Provide advanced community mental health services to clients of the Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service Team. Conduct mental health and drug and alcohol triage, acute initial assessments, risk assessments, crisis intervention, care management planning, and implementation of care plans. Coordinate referrals to clients and their carers. Work alone and within multidisciplinary teams. Engage effectively with Aboriginal consumers, families and other stakeholders. Administer medications used in the treatment of mental health disorders and maintain accurate medication records. Use computer systems and information technologies relevant to the position. Travel, including overnight stays, throughout the Kimberley region and to Fitzroy Crossing as required. Maintain current knowledge of legislative obligations, including the WA Mental Health Act 2014. Qualifications & Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Advanced community mental health nursing skills: complex mental health assessment, risk assessment, crisis intervention and care coordination. Recent experience in communitybased mental health nursing practice. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of medications used in mental health treatment and experience dispensing and administering them.
