The town of Goulburn, founded in 1863, has a population of about 30,000 and is situated in the Southern Tablelands. Goulburn ED is housed in a new clinical services building and includes a Level4 emergency department with 100 beds, 2 resuscitation bays, 6 acute bays (including 2 isolation rooms), a fasttrack area, and a newly opened 4bed emergency-surgery support unit (EDSSU). It operates with Level4 ICU support, continuous anaesthetic cover, and multidisciplinary services including general medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, maternity and rehabilitation. Mental Health services are colocated on campus within the Chisholm Ross Centre. The facility is the regional referral centre for Level3 and Level2 services in the Inland Network of Southern NSW LHD and is accredited for JMO training, ACRRM, RACGP, and EM Advanced Skills Training (AST). Work is underway to expand training into EMET and ACEM programs. What You''ll Be Doing The Specialist in Emergency Medicine will lead highquality, specialised and safe clinical care for patients in the emergency department and supervise training and clinical practice within a multidisciplinary team. The role requires managing clinical duties, providing mentorship for junior staff, and ensuring compliance with patient safety and governance standards. Selection Criteria Evidence of registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine or as a Specialist in General Practice (FRACGP or FACRRM) with additional advanced qualifications in Emergency Medicine. Demonstrated recent practice and expertise in Emergency Medicine, including knowledge, skills, and adherence to high clinical standards. Proven leadership and professional behaviour, modelling high standards for the multidisciplinary team. Excellent clinical communication skills across information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal modes. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, building collaborative partnerships and providing team leadership. Commitment to patient safety, clinical governance and continuous quality improvement. Dedication to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of medical, nursing and allied health professionals, as well as continuing selfeducation, research and quality improvement activities that align with NSW Health CORE values and SNSWLHD values. Willingness to participate in an equitable medical roster, including evenings, weekends, oncall duties and prompt onsite response when required.
