About the opportunity Based in Perths northern metropolitan area, Altrad is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to support the delivery of a major SMP infrastructure construction project. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in site-based execution while maintaining a stable Perth-based working arrangement. Working closely with the Construction Manager and Project Leadership Team, this role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities, ensuring works are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements. You will lead supervisory teams and coordinate labour, plant, and materials across multiple work fronts, ensuring alignment between planning, engineering, and onsite delivery. You will also interface with the client, subcontractors, and internal teams to support the smooth progression of works and resolve issues as they arise. Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate daily onsite construction activities across SMP scopes, ensuring safe and efficient execution. Lead and support supervisors and work crews to deliver works in line with safety, quality, and schedule requirements. Ensure all personnel understand and comply with work instructions, safety standards, and quality requirements. Plan and organise work in consultation with site leadership to meet program milestones and maximise productivity. Allocate and manage labour, plant, and materials to support efficient delivery of works. Monitor progress and provide timely feedback on issues impacting schedule, cost, or performance. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure coordinated and compliant delivery. Maintain regular communication with client representatives regarding progress and site activities. Drive strong HSEQ outcomes through active monitoring, coaching, and visible leadership on site. Support shutdown planning and execution, including resource allocation and coordination with planning teams. Ensure inspections, quality documentation, and asbuilt information are completed accurately and on time. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and work practices. Contribute to commercial outcomes by monitoring labour hours, identifying variances, and capturing potential claims. About you You are an experienced site leader who thrives in handson construction environments, leading teams from the front to deliver safe, efficient, and highquality outcomes. You bring a practical, solutionsfocused approach and are confident coordinating multiple work fronts in complex project environments. You bring with you: Demonstrated experience in a Construction Superintendent or similar role within SMP or heavy industrial projects. Strong sitebased experience across structural, mechanical, and piping scopes. Proven ability to lead and coordinate supervisors, trades, and subcontractors in a live construction environment. Solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and safe work practices, including SIMOPS. Experience planning and allocating resources, including labour, plant, and materials. Ability to monitor progress, manage productivity, and proactively address sitebased challenges. Welldeveloped communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, teams, and stakeholders. Experience managing subcontractor performance and ensuring compliance with project requirements. Sound understanding of quality processes, inspections, and project documentation requirements. Strong commitment to HSEQ, with the ability to lead and reinforce a proactive safety culture.
