School Information Edmondson Park PS is a new school that opened in Term 1 2023 and will form part of an Educational Precinct of Preschool to Year 12. The school has a current enrolment of 934 students, with 91% of students coming from a language background other than English and 2% identifying as Aboriginal. It is a P6 site, with the preschool operated by Liverpool Council. The school fosters a strong culture of collaboration, bringing together earlycareer and experienced teachers who work in hub learning spaces. Teachers regularly learn with and from one another, promoting professional growth and shared expertise. Professional learning is a core focus, with ongoing opportunities for staff to deepen their understanding of the new curriculum through explicit teaching and bespoke, targeted collaborative sessions. Specific Selection Criteria Approval to teach primary English as an additional language or dialect, or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in an approved English as an additional language primary or dialect qualification by the NSW Department of Education. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team to support the literacy and English language skills of EAL/D students, including New Arrival students, using knowledge of the ESL scales and incorporating EAL/D strategies into daily classroom practice. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships with all members of the school community. Strong understanding and application of departmental policies and procedures, including use of the EAL/D School Evaluation Framework, to plan for and implement improved wholeschool practices that align with school priorities.
