Engage Chinese-speaking communities through culturally tailored care Partner with leading outreach programs and clinical teams Leverage bilingual skills to drive meaningful health outcomesEmployment Type:PermanentPart TimePosition Classification:Health Education Officer GraduateRemuneration:$37.48 - $59.89 per hour + 12% SuperannuationHours Per Week:8Location: Parramatta Community Health CentreCreate and deliver culturally responsive sexual health programs using your bilingual skills in Mandarin and/or Cantonese to build trust and improve outcomes in priority communities.Where you''ll be workingBased at Parramatta Community Centre for Westmead Hospital, youll join a dynamic and purpose-driven team within the Western Sydney Sexual Health Centre, working at the forefront of community health promotion and outreach.Be part of a specialist sexual health service with strong community impact.Collaborate with partners including Sex Workers Outreach Project (SWOP) and metropolitan health teams.Engage with diverse communities across Western Sydney.Work in an innovative, outreach-focused and culturally responsive environment.Contribute to state-wide networks including Sexual Health Outreach Workers Network (SHOWNet).This role is centrally located in Parramatta, the heart of Western Sydney.Excellent access to public transport including Parramatta Transport Interchange (trains, buses, light rail)Close to vibrant cafs, restaurants, and retail at Westfield ParramattaEnjoy riverside walks and green spaces along the Parramatta RiverWe are located in rapidly developing health and education precinctClose to major institutions like Western Sydney UniversityWhat you''ll be doingThis role is central to improving sexual health outcomes for Chinese-speaking clients through education, outreach, and culturally appropriate support.Part of your role will require youto:Deliver outreach services to sex workers in brothels and community settingsProvide one-on-one and group sexual health education sessionsProvide culturally appropriate support and education in Mandarin and/or CantonesePartner with clinical teams and external organisations to coordinate careMaintain records, contribute to projects, and support continuous improvementAssist Chinese-speaking clients to navigate services and access care confidentlyHow to ApplyApply online by submitting your resume, a cover letter outlining relevant experience and addressing the criteria listed below by providing examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date.Essential CriteriaQualification: HEO Graduate requires an appropriate degree of a recognised University or College of Advanced EducationSelection CriteriaAbility to speak and write at a high level in Mandarin (and Cantonese if possible) and EnglishRelevant qualification and/or community development knowledge and/or experience in a health or related fieldCapacity to develop and implement health education activitiesUnderstanding of sexual health and/or sex industry issuesCapacity to conduct outreach servicesProven high level of oral, written and interpersonal communication skillsExperience in the use of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
