Together we can do more.The Clinical Nurse Specialist grade 2 (CNS2) is responsible for the provision of high level person centred, evidence-based clinical nursing care and is expected to embrace and lead a practice development philosophy in the delivery of that care.This outcome will be achieved thorough undertaking comprehensive nursing assessments, referral, providing expert consultation and educational support to staff, patients and family in the urology setting.The CNS2 will be responsible for evaluation and supervision in the provision of complex nursing care in the urology area of practice. The CNS2 will demonstrate the ability to act as a professional role model, delivering a high level capacity for client advocacy and cost benefit practice while demonstrating the ability to act as a change agent, provide effective clinical leadership and the ability to practice as an autonomous professional with the capacity to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.The CNS2 will assist in the provision of supervision and support for less experienced clinicians and will maintain their professional accountability and development in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australias Standards of Practice.All staff are expected to act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote culture and supporting practices that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment through demonstrated behaviours and interactions with patients, clients and employees.The CNS2 in urology will undertake comprehensive assessment and management of urology patients, through the urology nurse led outpatient clinic to support and manager this group of patients.
