SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.The Deputy Chief Medical Radiation Scientist (Nuclear Medicine) is to provide managerial support to the Chief MRS (Nuclear Medicine) in the Nuclear Medicine/PET Department.The Deputy Chief MRS is to perform both clinical and administrative duties relating to the daily running of a NuclearMedicine and PET department, under the direction of the Chief MRS (Nuclear Medicine).The Deputy Chief MRS must have a working knowledge and understanding of hospital and departmental administrative and purchasing requirements.The Deputy Chief MRS should assist in providing feedback and performance reviews on less experienced MRS (Nuclear Medicine).Where you''ll be workingPrince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. Offering a mix of historic buildings, impressive beaches and coastal walks coupled with boutique restaurants, transport links and a vibrant nightlife, youll never be short of things to do in this progressive community.Selection CriteriaTertiary Qualifications (including Degree, Diploma or Certificate) Nuclear Medicine, Current registration with AHPRA- MRPB, Eligibility for NSW EPA Licensing S14, IA27, IA16 or IA16DAbility to communicate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team with good interpersonal skillsKnowledge of or experience with procurement of radiopharmaceuticals (Oracle on-line requisitioning is ideal)Experience with electronic bookings and report systems (Karisma is ideal)Knowledge of WHS principals.Extensive knowledge of both General Nuclear Medicine and PET procedures.Paediatric experience is requiredProven leadership skills and ability to act as an appropriate and effective role model.
