Porter / CourierCalvary Mater Newcastle is seeking a reliable and motivated Porter / Courier to join our Support Services team. This role plays an important part in supporting hospital operations by ensuring the safe and efficient transport of patients, equipment and critical items throughout the hospital.Full-Time / 6-month contractSalary Classification: Hospital Assistant Grade 2Remuneration: $30.21 per hour + superannuation +salary packaging options designed to reduce your taxable income!The Role:The Courier-Porter provides safe, professional, and courteous porter services across the hospital. The successful candidate must be available to work seven days a week, Monday to Sunday.A security licence is desirable, with opportunities to step into higher-grade duties when required.The shift times in this role are:6:00 am to 2:30 pm7:00 am to 3:30 pm7:30 am to 4:00 pm8:30 am to 5:00 pm10:00 am to 6:30 pm12:00 pm to 8:30 amKey Responsibilities:Transportation of patients and equipmentAssisting with transport of medical recordsMovement of blood, blood products and pathology specimensAssisting with Pharmacy and Pathology deliveries (including cytotoxic drugs) and other general courier duties.Able to work unsupervised and proficient in periods of high demand and activity.About You: Commitment to providing professional customer service to patients, staff and members of the public in a timely manner Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Manual Handling and Infection Control principle, and privacy and confidentiality obligations Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and ability to work independently as required.
