$8,000 sign-on bonus Competitive salary and benefits No prior qualifications required Fully paid on-the-job training At present we are recruiting across the Barwon Precinct - Barwon Prison, Marngoneet Correctional Centre (Karreenga) and Western Plains Correctional Centre. About the region The Barwon Precinct is based in Lara and includes four facilities: Barwon Prison, Marngoneet Correctional Centre (Karreenga) and Victorias newest correctional centre, Western Plains. Each facility shares a people-first approach to rehabilitation, while offering varied environments and experiences for staff. Employees are based at one facility, with opportunities to grow their career across the Barwon Precinct. The role As a prison officer, you play a crucial part in a persons rehabilitation journey and ensure the safety and security of the facility. Prison officers supervise daily activities, support positive behaviour, and respond to incidents to ensure the safe operation of the prison. You will be challenged, but your resilience and dedication will help you thrive. Whats in it for you Earn up to $91,202 with a base salary of $63,469 plus penalty rates and overtime Annual salary increases, 5 weeks annual leave, 3 weeks personal leave and provisions for study leave 42 days comprehensive paid training (full time) Complete a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Adult Custodial) Learning and career development opportunities. New prison officers are now eligible for a bonus of up to $8,000. Six months after commencing, you will receive a payment of $4,000. Eligibility You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold Australian permanent residency. You also need to hold an Australian drivers licence (car, minimum P2).
