Ongoing Full-Time Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available Salary: Clerk Grade 11/12 with salary ranging from $149,739 to $173,174 + super and annual leave loading Lead capital compliance and strengthen financial governance across the department About the roleIn this role, you will lead key capital accounting compliance and quality assurance processes to ensure alignment with governance frameworks, policies and external requirements.You will oversee the review and monitoring of capital accounting policies, processes and controls, ensuring the quality and integrity of capital systems, data and reporting. The role also manages the asset revaluation process and provides oversight of Assets Under Construction (AUC) financial management and reporting.The role is part of a newly created centralised Capital Services function and will help build and lead system-wide assurance for the departments capital budget.For further information please click here to view the role descriptionAbout youThe ideal candidate will have: Strong experience in capital accounting, financial reporting or financial compliance. Knowledge of accounting standards and public sector governance frameworks. Ability to identify risks, resolve issues and improve financial processes. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience leading and developing teams. Key Knowledge and Experience Demonstrated experience in a large complex organisation in Capital accounting related roles Demonstrated experience providing commercially focused astute financial commentary for senior stakeholders Demonstrated experience in financial acumen capability uplift, including evidence of positive improvements made across organisations Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Departments Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Departments Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Essential requirements of the role Degree in accounting or finance discipline and membership of a recognised Australian professional accounting association. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to thevalue of public education.
