About the roleAlliance MultiCare Services is seeking caring, reliable, and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team in Baldivis, WA. This is a casual role, offering flexible work arrangements to support a quadriplegic participant with complex care needs. As a Disability Support Worker, you must have extensive experience working with clients with spinal cord injuries, particularly quadriplegia, and be confident in providing high-level personal care. What you''ll be doing Assisting the participant with high-level daily living activities, including personal care (showering, toileting, grooming, dressing) Supporting with manual handling and transfers (including hoist use) Assisting with meal preparation and feeding where required Performing household tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment Providing emotional support and companionship, encouraging engagement in meaningful activities Monitoring the participants wellbeing and reporting any changes Advocating for the participant and liaising with healthcare professionals to ensure their needs are met Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements What we''re looking for Extensive experience working with clients with spinal cord injuries, particularly quadriplegia (ESSENTIAL) Experience in the aged care or disability support sector, with an understanding of complex care needs A relevant qualification, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent Manual Handling experience (including hoist use) Medication Administration Training (or willingness to obtain) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships A compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature A genuine desire to make a difference in people''s lives A valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation Confidence in driving a wheelchair accessible van (desirable/required if applicable) Ability to work independently and as part of a team What we offerAt Alliance MultiCare Services, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment.
