About the Role Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, the Underground Truck Operator is the backbone of operations at Kanmantoo. Providing safe and efficient transportation of copper ore and waste from our underground to the Processing mill. As a part of a tight team, Truck drivers work to target to optimise production while contributing to a safe environment and supporting the underground development team to maximise raw ore recovery. Based in the Adelaide Hills, Kanmantoo offers a great local lifestyle with the convenience of being only 55 mins from the Adelaide CBD, 52 mins from Mount Barker and 30mins from Murray Bridge. Key Responsibilities: Operating underground haul trucks, light vehicles, and other machinery safely and efficiently. Transporting ore, waste, equipment, and consumables in line with production and shift plans. Delivering and stocking materials across surface and underground areas, supporting continuous operations. Assisting mining activities by setting up work areas, supporting extraction, and coordinating closely with Jumbo and Bogger operators. Maintaining high safety standards through pre-start checks, hazard reporting, compliance with procedures, and strong housekeeping. Support environmental and sustainability practices. Communicating effectively and working collaboratively across crews, showing flexibility, resilience, and a positive, team-focused attitude. About you: Have a proven commitment to safety, hazard identification and ability to follow procedures. Demonstrate a high work ethic and reliability in a fast-paced environment. Clear communicator with an understanding of the importance of call ups and radio communication. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the work area and care for equipment, contributing to a safe environment for all underground staff. Exhibit a willingness to support the mine including acting as a nipper when required. To be eligible for this role, you will need: Hold a current unrestricted drivers license Be physically fit. Ability to pass a medical and site wide Drug and Alcohol surveillance. Be over 18.
