TITLE Position Title: CookDescription: Prepares, seasons and cooks'' food in a dining or catering establishment. 3. ENGLISH LANGUAGE This position requires a high level of proficiency in the English language, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate with staff, suppliers, and customers. 4. FULL-TIME POSITION ONLY This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Jugiong, NSW. 5. OCCUPATION TASKS Tasks Include: Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment Preparing and cooking food Seasoning food during cooking Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements May plan menus and estimate food requirements May train other kitchen staff and apprentices Prepares, seasons and cooks'' food in a dining or catering establishment. 6. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Minimum 3 years'' experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and modern cooking methods. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining food quality and consistency. Understanding of hygiene and food safety regulations. Ability to manage time efficiently and work under pressure during busy service periods. 7. QUALIFICATIONS AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery; OR At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications. Additional on-the-job training or relevant culinary certifications may be required.
